Job summary

The Trust Facilities Department has an exciting opportunity for a Training Facilitator to join the Facilities team, based across all UHB hospital sites. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing staff knowledge by providing fluent, engaging training which will ensure that staff members across all sites are competent, confident, and compliant in all required subjects.

The ideal candidate will have previous training experience, preferably within the NHS and will understand how integral training is for staff members to fulfil their roles to the best of their abilities. This post holder will be self-reliant taking a hands-on approach to ensuring that training quality, and attendance is kept to a maximum, and their work is continually carried out to the highest standard.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Recruitment, Training and Development Manager, the successful applicant will ensure that the department reflects the Trusts core values and places high quality training at the forefront. The applicant is required to understand the importance of ensuring the best possible staff experience to all those who work within the Facilities department. This will be a challenging yet rewarding role.

Qualifications

Essential

  • * Evidence of continual professional development gained whilst working in an adult environment.
  • * Teaching qualification at level 3 or above.
  • * ILM 3 or equivalent.
  • * IOSHH

Desirable

  • * Food Safety Level 2/3/4 in Catering.
  • * Recognised IT qualification, for example, ECDL or equivalent.
  • * Relevant Train the Trainer

Experience

Essential

  • * A broad knowledge of training delivery and techniques in an adult education environment to a multi skilled workforce.
  • * Knowledge of blending learning and the ability to incorporate all methods of delivery into training programmes.
  • * Experience developing and delivering a wide variety of training interventions in an adult training environment.
  • * Human Resources procedures -- recruitment, appraisals.
  • * Experience of training adults with learning disabilities and who require special assistance with course content.
  • * Experience of carrying out training needs analysis and developing skills matrix's.
  • * Experience of delivering training to adults at all levels and with varying levels of ability.
  • * Experience of designing training packages and using a variety of IT packages (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • * Experience working with multi-disciplined teams and building effective and supportive cross departmental relationships.

Desirable

  • * Knowledge of Food Safety.
  • * An understanding of quality and environmental management systems, e.g. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • * Experience of developing and delivering a wide variety of employment based training packages to staff at all levels -- both statutory and developmental.
  • * Experience of developing e-learning packages MOODLE, podcasts etc.
  • * Previous experience of working in the NHS or a similar health care setting.
  • * Experience producing high quality learning aids such as workbooks, brochures, manuals and newsletters.
