Job summary
At UHB we are committed to developing our Nursing Associate workforce at scale and are looking for experienced registered nurses who have a proven commitment to educating and supporting learners in clinical practice.
The post holder's primary focus is on developing a Trainee Nursing Associate workforce across all UHB sites. The post holder will ensure staff are equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence to be able to provide consistent high quality, safe care in partnership with others to patients within the associated practice settings. The post holder will be integral to the design, development, co-ordination and delivery of clinical educational programmes to support service situated learning opportunities linked to the requirements of the Trainee Nursing Associate programme.
The post holder will be a visible role model, providing clinical support to TNA's. 80% of the post holders time will be spent in the clinical environment, which includes clinical practice settings, clinical skills labs/training and education facilities. The post holder will work in line with the Knowledge of Standards for student supervision and assessment NMC 2018.
Main duties of the job
Applicants will need to demonstrate sound knowledge of the role of the Nursing Associate and National developments within the role to date, have significant post registration experience with recent NHS experience in an acute practice area and experience of formal and informal teaching. In addition we will be looking for enthusiasm, commitment, excellent interpersonal skills, confidence and vision.
The post will involve working across sites at UHB.
Support Trainee Nursing Associates and Nursing Associates across all sites within UHB with their clinical development, achievement of proficiencies and provide pastoral support.Work alongside Trainee Nursing Associates in the clinical enviroment to support them in clinical practice.Be a clinically credible practitioner who promotes innovation and up to date evidenced based practice. Collaborate with relevant teams to support the delivery of the Trainee Nursing Associate Programme across UHB.
