Job summary

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a dynamic and busy Emergency Department with a yearly attendance of approximately 150,000 patients, offering a wide range of clinical experience. We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, proactive and motivated individuals to join our friendly and dynamic team within our busy department.

As a Band 6 Emergency Department Practitioner, your role is pivotal as a proficient role model and clinical expert working alongside the senior nursing team and Lead Emergency Department Practitioner in providing outstanding clinical care to our resus patients.

To do this role effectively, the successful candidate will need to be a forward thinking, creative practitioner. The role requires the post holder to be able to cope in a changing environment and have problem solving skills.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:- Act as a role model for junior team members in the delivery of a consistent high standard of nursing practice within resus.- Deputise for the Lead Emergency Department Practitioner and support the leadership and management of the department with particular emphasis on quality and clinical standards.- Have continuing clinical responsibility for managing the resus areas.

  • * Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC/HCPC
