Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager within Radiology. During a period of reset at the Trust, you will have the opportunity to work across all 4 sites (with a base of Solihull and Good Hope), allowing an opportunity to grow your network across all 4 of the site based structures.

Radiology is one of the biggest departments at the Trust, with over 90% of patients visiting the department at some point during their stay in hospital. We have remained a cross-site service and are looking for a confident, organised and passionate individual to join our team. Our current challenges sit with post-Covid recovery of backlogs and waiting times patients are facing for scans. You will be primarily based at Solihull and Good Hope, however may need to travel to other sites as and when required.

The Operations Manager is responsible for promoting the vision and values of University Hospitals Birmingham, leading by example and ensuring that they demonstrate those values in their leadership behaviours and how we support our teams and deliver our services. You will be working closely alongside 4 other Operations Managers and a Junior Operations Manager.

Main duties of the job

Service Development:

*To contribute to the strategic development of services

*To support the General Manager with specific change management processes and ensure engagement of the multi-disciplinary team.

*Assist in the formulation of business cases as required to support service developments, in conjunction with General Managers.

*To ensure that all national and locally agreed access standards and booking targets are understood and met (FDS, DM01, 62day RTT)

*To ensure complaints and incidents are investigated in line with Trust policies to identify, agree and implement corrective action plans.

*To ensure the delivery of key performance standards for designated areas within the speciality, escalating any variances and providing action plans as required.

*Responsible for a departmental/designated budget

Good to Know:

The role is full-time hours (37.5 p/w)

We support a range of flexible working options to enable you to work in a way that matches your productivity against the service needs (including compressed hours).

If you would like to discuss the role further, please email Clementine Macliver, hiring manager.
