Main duties of the job
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with clinical teams such as speech and language and Dietetics to ensure catering services meet specialized patient needs and dietary requirements.
* Report to the Head of Catering for the Trust, maintaining open communication and alignment with organizational goals.
* Manage a team of over 200 staff, including seasonal hires, ensuring robust recruitment levels to sustain operational efficiency.
* Implement the core vision and values of the Trust within catering services, fostering a culture of excellence and compassion.
Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, overseeing substantial workforces in delivering catering services.
* Profound knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety protocols, ensuring adherence to stringent standards.
* Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with clinical teams and diverse staff members.
* Proven ability to implement organizational values and vision within operational frameworks.

- * Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate or level 4 food safety qualification or equivalent.
- * Degree / Diploma Level 4 in Facilities Management or Hospitality Management higher level or equivalent.
- * Evidence of continual professional development in catering operations.
Desirable
- * High level Health & Safety qualification eg: NEBOSH, ISOH
- * Professional management qualification
- * Active membership of a relevant Catering NHS association (or equivalent).
- * Additional HACCP food safety training

- * Significant (recent) management experience in a large food production/catering environment
- * Significant experience of managing a workforce & associated human resources issues.
- * Experience of effectively managing & leading change.
- * Specialised knowledge of large catering production operations, food safety, cook chill processes, HACCP, and dietary requirements.
- * Experience understanding of infection control risks, policies, and procedures related to foods safety.
