Band 6 Biologics Clinical Nurse Specialist Dermatology
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 6 nurse to join the Biologics CNS team at Solihull and Good Hope Hospital. The role is multi-faceted and encompasses, the co-ordination of investigations, ongoing monitoring and reviews. Whilst the post holder will work primarily within Dermatology, MDT working is a fundamental part of the CNS role. Successful candidates will work in both the Solihull and Good Hope Hospital sites.
The CNS role involves ensuring patients are seen at appropriate points in their pathway. It involves liaising with family members and a variety of care providers.
The role is varied, demanding, and satisfying. The ideal candidate would already have experience of working as a CNS, with relevant experience of working with patients with long term conditions and the ability to work independently to manage their caseload.
The ability to ask questions when unsure and to learn quickly is essential as this is a busy role with a large cohort of patients.
Main duties of the job
IV competent to administer biologic therapies where required. Participate in nurse led and multidisciplinary clinics. Prescription and funding management. Clinics will be face to face, virtual or by telephone, and incorporate the use of agreed protocols and clinical / professional guidelines.
Provide a highly visible clinical presence within Dermatology and the wider MDT and demonstrate expert knowledge and high standards of clinical practice.
Provide a seamless, high-quality service for patients from referral through to assessment, diagnosis, treatment and review. Referring to other health care professionals as required. Provide guidance to staff, patients, their families and carers.
Act as a point of contact and support for patients during treatment, follow up and discharge.
Work autonomously, organise and manage own workload, identifying and maintaining supportive networks for self & others.
