Main duties of the job

As the lead Dental Nurse you will be responsible for teams across Queen Elizabeth, Good Hope and Solihull Hospital sites, and will plan and organisethe provision of high quality dental care. You will develop and support the team to ensure that all edcuational needs are met in order that a safe effective care delivery for our patients.

Our teams consist of both Junior and Senior Dental Nurses, all with differing skill sets. With the right leadership and development the sky is our limit.

The successful candidate will be accountable for :

oPreparation of rosters (ensuring rostering indicators are met)

oIdentification and prioritisation of training needs to support clinical activity

oAccountable for ensuring Trust Annual appraisal and Mandatory Training requirements of dental nursing team are met

oManagement of sickness, capability or disciplinary issues, including complex cases (ensuring Trust HR indicators are met).

o Budgetary responsibility for the pay budget of the dental nursing service across the 3 sites on which the Trust currently undertakes dental, Orthodontic or maxillofacial activity.

o Manage effective use of resources including appropriate use of equipment, medications, and stock

o Supervise and develop the dental nursing team to nurture a culture of inclusion and equity.

o Identify and support traiing provision for all of the team members
