Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Healthcare Support Workers to join our team at AMU/MAU at Good Hope Hospital, this a part of the acute medical team.
We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking and passionate individuals

If successful, all necessary training will be provided, and further development is encouraged such as trainee nurse associate as well as other opportunities.
These acute medical areas cover a large bed base as well as a clinic.
MAU has 14 trolly spaces, 2 assessment pods and large waiting area where new patients are assessed.
AMU has 34 Beds including 7 side rooms, in this area the patient's treatment and care are continued until they can be transferred to the specialist ward they require.

Main duties of the job
The Healthcare Support Worker role on MAU/AMU revolves around providing high quality patient centred care.
This includes personal care, recording observations, assisting with nutritional needs, ECG taking, blood glucose measurements and escorting patients to other wards and departments, completing electronic patient charts for which you will be trained to do.
The post holder will have direct contact with members of the public and so will require excellent communication skills.
Due to the acute and busy environments, the post holder will need to be able to work well under pressure.
Patients are referred to MAU by either GP's or other medical professionals for medical assessment. It is a dynamic busy area with a fast turnover of patients and is supported by a Matron and Senior Sisters. The workload within these areas are varied and different day to day.
