Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for a newly qualified Cardiac Physiologist within the cardiology department at Solihull hospital as a band 5 Cardiac Physiologist. The successful candidates will work within a friendly and professional team who strive to ensure they provide a patient focused compassionate and professional service. We are looking for someone who offers excellent communication skills, outstanding customer service skills, solid computer literacy and a drive to provide the best care for patients and support for colleagues. The successful candidates will have the relevant qualifications outlined in the person specification and will be supported fully to develop into their specialist area of choice including a preceptorship period.

Main duties of the job

The department incorporates a broad range of invasive and non-invasive procedures, both routine and complex. There is physiologist reporting of echocardiography, exercise tolerance testing, head up tilt testing, Holter monitoring / analysis and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. We have a busy pacemaker follow up service both face to face and remote clinics. We have a limited angiography and pacemaker implant service at the moment. The department is experienced and supportive of advanced practice having well established physiologist-led services such as rapid access chest pain clinic, Physiologist led contrast Echocardiography and Implantable loop recorder (ILR) implants / explants in place. We are also just about to launch our physiologist led valve clinic.

You will have opportunities to develop through rotation in all areas of the department and the chance to utilise your knowledge and experience to develop and train other staff and students.
