Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse at the Surgical Elective Admissions Unit (SEAU) at Solihull. This department is a pathway for elective surgery; patients are admitted on the day of their procedure to be prepared for theatre.

Shift patterns are varied and include short days, long days and weekends.

We would welcome applicants with excellent organisational skills who could lead a great team in an ever expanding, exciting service which has a huge impact on the quality of patient care provision in this hospital.

Main duties of the job

The applicant would work as a skilled member of the team ensuring a high standard of care is delivered to patients being admitted for elective surgery. The applicant should have a sound knowledge of surgical nursing, good organisational and leadership skills have excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and undertake new skills. Previous experience of surgical nursing practice would be desirable.
