Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the technical support within the clinical education service. This will include clinical skills, simulation and resuscitation services and off-site venues, including the University of Birmingham Medical School and Aston University Facility.
The role will involve the maintenance and set up of all the training equipment to support clinical education activity across all the trust sites.
The role will work closely with all clinical education staff including Resuscitation Officers, Educators and Associate Technicians to ensure that all booked training sessions are appropriately facilitated in line with department and Health and Safety policy.
The role will provide support in the management of all Trust education venues and will provide a front line service dealing effectively and efficiently with all centre users, visitors and telephone enquiries.
The role will support the development and management of the Associate Technicians within the clinical education service and will provide a first contact point for service delivery queries and daily task allocations.
The department operates across all trust sites and the post holder will be expected to travel to different locations, where their role requires them to do so.
Main duties of the job
*Work with National Programme Coordinator/ Senior Educator/Senior RO to ensure that the Centres are appropriately utilised and provide an efficient service.
*Liaise with the National Programme Coordinator /Senior Educator/Senior RO to review provisional bookings to ensure the appropriate technical support can be offered and the booking is viable
*In line with department monthly work schedule review the equipment and resources necessary for the month ahead ensuring equipment requested is appropriate.
*Ensure that any damaged equipment is reported to the National Programme Coordinator/ Senior Educator/Senior RO and or Medical Engineering and damage is recorded and repaired as per instruction.
*Liaise with National Programme Coordinator /Senior Educator/Senior RO to review sessional requirements where necessary for the month ahead training sessions ensuring the equipment requested is appropriate
*Take ownership for the setup of equipment and additional training resources necessary for each scheduled training session in line with work rota
Working across sites in audio visual rooms managing, technology and AV equipment, which may include working in some, enclosed spaces
Support users of the electronic learning resources provided, ensuring appropriate usage and providing an initial trouble shooting service wherever possible or referring the problem to the Trust IT Department.
