We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to be join our friendly proactive Band 7 Team Leads team, The teams work across Acute Medicine, Admission avoidance at Heartlands Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 looking for their next step in their career or an existing Band 7 looking for a new challenge. We are looking for a creative and dynamic team leader who can jointly lead a team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Support Workers, supporting and maximizing interdisciplinary working to enable patients to achieve their therapy goals and to be discharged home in a timely manner from our newly enhanced SDEC/MAU area.
Applicants should be Band 6 or above. It is essential you have expert clinical skills, leadership qualities, have good communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have excellent organisational and time management skills, teaching skills and an enthusiasm for service development.
You will be required to participate in our 7 day working service.

Main duties of the job
The candidate must be a qualified HCPC registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with recent acute experience.
Demonstration of significant clinical experience with good knowledge in an Acute hospital setting, ideally in a fast paced area, enabling the candidate to manage a complex caseload of patients as well as significant experience in managing and leading others.
The candidate must have a good understanding and experience of both formal and informal training techniques, with the enthusiasm to empower others with their development. The post holder will have an understanding of all the different job roles and their scope of practise to provide tailored development for qualified OT's, PT's and TSW's.
They must have experience of participating in service development and a practical knowledge of audit and data collection. They will also have experience of managing junior staff and deputising for the team lead.
Their excellent communication skills with be essential to support and lead the team, with the ability to plan and manage staff rotas, sickness, provide supervision and appraisals and deputise for the CTL in meetings when required.
In return you will gain excellent clinical and leadership experience. You will also develop organisational skills and service development experience.
