Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available within our expanding Theatre department. We currently have vacancies for Band 6 ODP's/Nurse Team Leaders in our Theatres at Good Hope Hospital. We have 1 substantive vacancy and 2 x 12 month secondments covering gynaecology, general surgery, colorectal and emergency services. You will need to demonstrate experience in the specialities applied for as you will be supporting and developing our junior workforce. You will need to be flexible and able to demonstrate effective leadership skills and be able to adapt to clinical demands in an environment that can be unpredictable and challenging.
To join our innovative and motivated multi-disciplinary teams, individuals should be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, be flexible and work under their own initiative whilst adapting to clinical demands. You will provide professional leadership to dedicated theatre teams whilst developing and maintaining high standards in all areas of practice. You will show initiative, flexibility and have the ability to prioritize and manage the demands within these elective and emergency settings. There is also an opportunity to enhance your management skills and be actively involved in supporting the department moving forward
Main duties of the job
Our Trust has excellent opportunities for a Band 6 Team Leader to develop, enhance, consolidate and excel their theatre skills, in anaesthetics, scrub and recovery. All applicants must demonstrate within their application a strong commitment to teaching and a desire to develop and progress within the Operating Theatre Department. All applicants are required to work a range of shifts covering a 24/7 working pattern including early, late, on call, long day, and bank holiday shifts. There will be cross site working should this be required. We are looking for enthusiastic, talented and passionate practitioners who share our trust values and strive to deliver high standards of care. Applicants that are successfully shortlisted will be expected to do a 10 minute Powerpoint presentation prior to their interview. Notification of the presentation title will be given to candidates with their interview appoinment.
