Job summary
We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Team based at Heartlands Hospital Aseptic Dispensing Unit (ADU).
This section 10 unit specialises in the aseptic preparation of cytotoxic drugs, monoclonal antibodies, and OPAT for use at the University Hospitals Birmingham, including Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope Hospitals.
The successful candidate will enjoy the busy environment and have the unique opportunity to contribute to the development and integration of new systems and practices that assure a quality service in this expanding and evolving unit.
We welcome enquires from those currently working within an aseptic environment and/or quality assurance providing a patient focused service. As such you will have:
*an in-depth knowledge of GMP and healthcare experience.
*an awareness of MHRA licencing requirement and EL (97)52 Farwell inspections.
*experience in providing specialist technical training advice to others.
*a good understanding of quality management systems.
You will have an enthusiasm for quality assurance, service improvement and in return you will be provided with excellent training to become skilled, competent and confident in the role.

Main duties of the job
The role will include a variety of tasks, enabling you to develop your knowledge and skills through structured education and training opportunities. It provides a rewarding opportunity to develop and maintain systems to ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice and National Standards.
*Plan and organise the schedule of QA tasks with all trust pharmacy sites providing aseptic services.
*Analyse, trend, interpret and communicate complex data from Quality Management System reports.
*Provide specialist advice on QA procedures and associated equipment.
*Conduct and participate in quality audits, develop action plans and review outcomes.
*Support, develop and deliver consistent training to all levels of staff.
*Documentation of quality exception reports and error reports or significant process, product, or patient safety related deviations from standards of health and safety and Good Manufacturing Practice.
*Changes made under the change control process and document recommended outcomes.
*Impact, risk and COSHH assessments
*Write, review, develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures.
*Ensure all documentation is complete and any agreed investigation and follow-up action(s) are undertaken.
*Promote best GMP practice and a patient focused service.
*To ensure day-to-day cost-effective use of resources.
