The workload throughout the department is very varied and interesting with no two days being the same. The successful candidate must be dynamic, possess excellent communication skills and have a high sense of professionalism ad a strong belief in the value of teamwork.

As a new member of the team, despite how much training you have had in the past, you will be fully supported by our dedicated clinical education team, allowing you to build on your existing nursing skills for your future career and development within Emergency Nursing. Study days will be readily available, developing your competencies in all areas of the Emergency Department, such as Resuscitation and Minor Injuries.

We have full and part time position available and offer a range of long and short days and support flexible working.

Main duties of the job

The Role of a band 5 within the Emergency Department is that of delivering high quality nursing care to all of our patients. You will be supported in learning a vast range of new skills, including the treatment of Resuscitation patients, triage and minor injuries. Alongside the support and training provided by our in house clinical education team, you will also have a dedicated Band 7 team leader to support you alongside our in house well being teams.

This role is looking for dynamic people who have experience working autonomously and in a team. Being competent in a range of clinical skills; having the willingness to learn and undertake expanded practices relevant to the scope of practice is essential for a nurse in ED.

We are committed to developing a culture in line with our values that improves quality and enhances patient experience and you will play a vital part in developing new ways of working to achieve this.
