Band 2 Equipment Store Coordinator

Job summary
The post holder will be required to work flexibly as part of a team to deliver, set up, monitor the location and collect and inspect a range of equipment held in the centralized Equipment Store (as per the Operational Policy). The post holder will be responsible for the cleaning of pressure relieving systems and the delivery and collecting of the equipment. The post holder will be expected to maintain an up to date database of the equipment locations. The post holder will support the ward staff/clinical areas to promote the appropriate utilisation of equipment to assist in programmes of care to prevent and treat pressure ulcers and prevent patient harm. They will also be required to take part in service activities as directed by the Trust Medical Engineering Manager or Deputy Medical Engineering Manager.
Main duties of the job
Deal with telephone enquiries to the equipment store, taking requests for equipment from ward areas.
Deliver requested equipment to wards within required time frame
Carry out fault finding on any alarming equipment, checking equipment is safe for use and functioning correctly.
Collect any equipment that is no longer in use from ward areas and return to store using trolley, updating relevant information on the eQuip database.
On return to the equipment Store carry out equipment condition checks and action accordingly e.g. secondary cleaning of equipment as per Trust decontamination guidelines and policy.
