Job summary
An exciting position has become available within the Cancer Services department for a Cancer Pathway Support Coordinator. The role will be specific in supporting the data collection and data entry for cancer patients through their pathway and ensuring data is processed in a timely manner and effective way.
Candidates will need to be assertive, confident, flexible and able to work under pressure. Attention to detail and a keen eye for data quality are essential for this role.
The post holder will assist in the achievement of cancer targets by capturing patient waiting time information, monitoring cancer waiting times by proactively identifying risks and take corrective actions.

Main duties of the job
*To ensure the accurate and timely collection of data for designated tumour site areas, including meeting the information requirements of the Cancer Waiting Times, COSD, SACT and national audits.
*To respond to queries in relation to data quality and validation, working closely with the Cancer Pathway Coordinator to ensure that any updates are undertaken in a timely fashion.
*Through directed and protocolised guidance, support the timely and accurate tracking of patients on cancer pathways.
*Liaise on a day to day basis with relevant nursing staff, administrative staff, doctors, consultants and medical secretaries, and members of the MDT team.
*Work collaboratively with the Cancer Pathway Coordinators to ensure best practice is followed and services are improved and maintained.
*To provide annual leave and sickness cover for other Cancer Pathway Support Co-ordinators ensuring service continuity across cancer services.
*To ensure that there is a co-ordinated approach to service delivery on all Trust sites to promote good working relations.
*Cross hospital site working ll be required to ensure that all service needs are met.
*Support the collection and completion of any required minimum datasets in relation to patients being referred to and from other teams or organisations. Working with individual teams, ensure that there is a system to ensure communication is maintained and all material is returned.
