Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to be part of the Clinical Education Team within Division 2.

The division cares for a wide variety of patients within the specialities of Renal Dialysis, Renal Medicine and Surgery, Liver and GI Medicine, Liver Surgery and Endoscopy, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiology as well as Respiratory Medicine and Diabetes. The division also cares for patients undergoing all solid organ transplantation.

We currently have a full time/permanent opportunity for a clinical educator to contribute to the educational needs of the staff within the entire division but also with specific experience and desire to teach staff within one of our divisional specialities.

The division has a desire to ensure the nursing workforce have all the core skills required to ensure our patients have the best care we can give, as well as all the specialist knowledge required to care for the patients we serve in all our wards and departments. The role will require flexibility to work across all sites to deliver education and ensure developmental needs are met, encouraged and nurtured.

Main duties of the job

o Working as part of a professional team delivering education to clinical staff.

o Developing new evidenced based teaching content.

o Teaching on trust specific study days and your own teaching sessions.

o Ensuring speciality areas are up to date with evidenced based knowledge.

o Working multi-site to ensure staff are being supported with education and clinical skills.

o Providing pastoral care and support to al staff within the trust.

o Working closely with the school of nursing and midwifery in the delivery of education.

o Communicating and supporting the wider MDT in the delivery of education and clinical skills.

o Become a core trainer in specific clinical skills such as clinical life support and blood transfusion.

o To help provide and support the trust with clinical simulation.

o To support and develop international nurses coming into the trust.

o To support the trust with recruitment of clinical staff.

o Work towards developing your own professional development such as PG Cert in education.

o Upholding professional standards.
