Job summary

The Medical Education Department is responsible for ensuring the delivery and quality management of education and training for approximately 1800 Junior Doctors (doctors in training and locally employed doctors) placed across all specialities within the Trust.

The post holder will work as part of a team of 3 Postgraduate Clinical Teaching Fellows (Medical or Surgical), involved in the development and delivery of interactive teaching session for core curriculum teaching programmes for all Junior Doctors.

The post holder will support the development of a teaching VLE (virtual learning environment) and ensure all Medical Education online learning packages, including Medical Induction are up to date and evidence based.

Main duties of the job

Postgraduate Medical Education currently has 3 Postgraduate Clinical Teaching Fellow positions available.

Each position is offered on a 12month fixed term contract, full time (40hrs per week), working 08:30am until 17:00pm (with a 30min break) -- Monday to Friday. It would be advantageous if each successful candidate was able to commence in August 2023.

We currently have 3 positions available --

-1 based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham

-1 based at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham

-1 based at Good Hope in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham

However, each successful candidate may be required to travel to any of the University Hospital Birmingham sites, to ensure the needs of the service are met.
