Job summary
This is a full time post and incorporates 8 PA's of direct patient care based on a 10 PA contract. Flexibility in association with service needs will be required on a weekly basis. The appointee will support clinical colleagues in offering a comprehensive imaging service for the trust and our patients. The timetable of activities will be agreed with the Clinical Service Lead of Imaging before taking up the post. Sample timetables of activities are available on request.
This is a general interventional radiology role principally consisting of acute IP and elective IR lists, IP ultrasound lists as well as multidisciplinary meeting. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to multidisciplinary meetings in general and trauma and Adrenal MDT's in particular. A limited number of outpatient reporting sessions may also be required.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will also be expected to take an active part in the training of Specialist Registrars on their rotation through the Departments.
The Trust has successfully introduced radiographer skill-mix in a number of areas including, tunnelled line insertions and fistula interventions. Supervision of this radiographer extended role may be required.
The normal working day in Imaging may be extended to improve the speed of delivery of the service and maximise the efficient use of the equipment. The appointee will be expected to perform a limited number of sessions in the evenings or weekends together with other radiological colleagues. Cross site working may be required as part of improved service delivery.
A home workstation will be issued for on call provision.
