Job summary

Applications are invited to work at Junior Specialist Doctor - FY1 equivalent level in medical or surgical specialties at any of our UHB sites to commence as soon as possible until 6th August 2024. Posts may be on a rotational basis.

The hospital A&E has 70,000 attendances per year and helicopter landing facilities. The hospital also has an ambulatory care ward incorporating 7 theatres, 2 of which are used exclusively for hand surgery. The New Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham provides an elective and trauma service for the West Midlands. The Centre accepts secondary and tertiary referrals for both civilian and military patients.

Full GMC registration is required for this post. This post will work in a team that provides exposure to acute and complex trauma at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham which is a University teaching hospital and a Level 1 Trauma Centre in the West Midlands.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will join the team of foundation doctors and Physician Associates (PA) in various units to provide duties expected of a Foundation Year 1 doctor in a busy Major Trauma Centre or tertiary care.
