Trainer and Wellbeing Practitioner

Job summary

We are excited to be offering this role as Trainer and Wellbeing Practitioner. This post offers opportunities to develop and use your skills in delivering high-quality training across clinical and non-clinical settings, helping staff to work safely and confidently. In addition to this we would like for you to support staff wellbeing in a range of initiatives, which you will be instrumental in planning. You will be delivering training in both a classroom and a virtual capacity to a broad range of clinical and non-clinical staff, across several ECCH sites.

Our training is wide-ranging and essential to maintaining safe working practices across the organisation and helping staff develop and thrive in their roles. The post holder will play a key role in supporting a culture of safety and compliance with mandatory training requirements, while contributing to the ongoing development of staff skills and confidence.

Although this post is advertised at 30 hours per week, consideration would be given for full-time working.

Main duties of the job

ECCH is committed to the wellbeing of its employees, we want to provide a working environment that promotes, protects and enhances the employee experience. The successful candidate will be key to the delivery of this aim. The role will involve training staff but also involve guiding and influencing the strategic direction of the organisation through participation in planning, through attendance at committees and working with the Health & Wellbeing Group to implement an overarching long term Wellbeing Strategy.

This primary purpose of this role therefore is to support and facilitate change and safety assurance through the updating and delivery of training across all clinical and non-clinical services and to provide a key role in supporting the Quality & People functions in their strategic aims. This includes supporting the Corporate Induction programme, mandatory training programme and other development fitting with skillset and organisational need.

The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality multi-professional learning environments within the organisation and will be required to work locally within services where inter-professional learning opportunities are required.

The post holder will conduct research and development to continually update training.

Job responsibilities

*Deliver a relevant and contemporary mandatory training programme to meet the needs of the individual clinical or non-clinical services.

*Contribute to the organisation, planning and delivery of the annual mandatory training refresher programme, plus new starter inductions.

*Responsible for the maintenance of attendance records for training and the production of hand-out materials plus wellbeing communications.

*Evaluate the effectiveness of the training by observation and audit in accordance with governance.

*The post holder must be able to work without direct supervision, manage priorities, workload, and take independent decisions on a daily basis and to act on their own initiative.

*Be accountable for professional actions under the Code of Conduct of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, The British Resus Council or any other professional body that governs the training delivered.

*Promote best practice working and support staff implementing learning into practice.

*Liaise with service and line managers to coordinate and create tailored training to meet service requirements.

*Liaise with People Team members relating to training programme development.

*Support the Training Team in the delivery of other aspects of mandatory, wellbeing and other training, in keeping with skillset.

*Be responsible for own personal education and development relating to role in line with current legal and best practices.

*Liaise with and feed into all appropriate internal governance committees and provide statistical/analytical data.

*To provide ergonomic expertise and advice to workplace design and strategy projects in line with Occupational Health Specialist instruction.

*To assist with and feed into policy around musculoskeletal disorders and ergonomics

*Provide appropriate advice to staff and managers on wellbeing initiatives, ergonomic and wellbeing advice relating to MSK issues. Basic advice on fundamentals of health such as nutrition, hydration and rest as well as how to build movement into sedentary roles. Maintain records of advice given.

*Support the Specialist Occupational Health Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with MSK issues and Wellbeing Events.

*Research and contribute to wellbeing initiatives.

  • *MHFAider and First Aid Trained with experience of the delivery of Resus Training or the ability and desire to achieve these
