Job summary

This is an exciting secondment opportunity for a senior clinician who has a passion for the digital agenda and the transformation of services. The secondment opportunity is for 12 months fixed term in the first instance and 15 hours per week.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our fantastic Digital Health Team and help us make a positive difference for our staff and patients. You will have extensive experience of leading improvements and you will be someone with excellent interpersonal skills and a 'can do' approach!

The Digital Health team at East Coast Community Healthcare (ECCH) is made up of friendly, dynamic, supportive and skilled staff who have a great ethos and drive for improving healthcare provision by enabling digital capabilities. Main duties of the job

The Digital Health Team is a busy environment, and the successful candidate must be able to prioritise their own workload, manage their time and complete tasks against the required time-frames and will be required to have a flexible approach to working to meet the digital demands of the organisation. You will be required to manage a varied workload and should be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

As a Digital Health Clinical Specialist you will take a principle role in advancing ECCHs digital agenda, providing direction and leadership for digital and clinical transformation across the organisation. In this role, you will encourage and support clinical colleagues to embrace transformational and digital change, ensuring that it is both innovative and responsive with a clear focus on the quality of staff and patient experience. You will be someone with demonstrable digital knowledge, project and operational delivery, excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities

Oversee and sign off on all change to ECCHs clinical systems environment, ensuring that changes are carried out in a controlled manner and to the agreed standard.

Conduct monthly one to one supervision with members of the Digital Health Team to ensure they are kept up to date with relevant organisational and national policies around health care provision under the digital remit.

Work with teams and their leadership to encourage clinical adoption of digital services

Providing clinical expertise to the design and development of IT enabled change programmes to ensure they deliver safe, effective, evidence based services and systems that meet the needs of patients, service users and clinicians.

Ensuring standardisation of clinical terminology, coding and compliance to ensure that systems and information meets the needs of regulatory compliance.

Providing clinical leadership to support the ongoing development and implementation of electronic patient records and other technology solutions both across the organisation and with partner organisations.

Listening to clinical concerns about the use of technology and devising strategies to resolve these and promulgate best adoption practices. Acting as ECCHs Clinical Safety Officer to ensure the safe implementation of data and digital services across the organisation.

Linking with other best practice groups and services across the country and particularly with regional and national clinical networks in the interests of knowledge transfer and learning from the experiences of others.

To represent ECCH at regional technology groups (such as the ICS) where requested to do so by the Senior Management Team.

Facilitating the use of analytics within clinical settings to enhance transparency across the organisation and encourage effective decision making based upon robust evidence.

Promote the use of information technology in the clinical setting to improve safety, quality, patient and family satisfaction, efficiency in delivery of care and overall cost reduction.

Formally review the organisations clinical risk management process at planned, regular intervals.

Approve the clinical risk management process to confirm that the plan is appropriate and achievable in the context of the Health IT System deployment, modification and decommissioning.

Provide a recommendation to management regarding whether the Clinical IT System is safe to deploy.

Raise any unacceptable safety risks to Management.

To be involved in the reporting, investigating and resolution of clinical safety incidents
