Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Systems Specialist to join our Digital Health Team and play a key role in advancing the digital capabilities within our organisation. The role will work with colleagues across the Health and Social Care system, including internal and external stakeholders to support the use of technology to enable clinical best practice and enhance patient care through digital change.

The Digital Health team here at East Coast Community Healthcare (ECCH) is made up of friendly, dynamic, supportive and skilled staff who have a great ethos and drive for improving healthcare provision by enabling digital capabilities. If you are passionate about change and have the skills and experience to advance and support the improvement of quality, productivity, patient and staff experience, and have a passion for digitalisation then this role is for you.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience in operating and configuring digital platforms and delivering transformational change and support to end users.

Main duties of the job

To deploy, and maintain efficient, modern, secure and cost-effective support system solutions on behalf of ECCH.

Provide specialist guidance in the utilisation of digital tools that have been expertly configured to support safe care and promote best clinical practice.

Work with a range of frontline and administrative staff to ensure the digital programmes are continually pushing the capabilities in terms of advancing functionality and technology.

The Digital Health Team is a busy environment, and the successful candidate must be able to prioritise their own workload, manage their time and complete tasks against the required time-frames and will be required to have a flexible approach to working to meet the digital demands of the organisation. You will be required to manage a varied workload and should be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and advice on the development and implementation of digital health systems.
  • Work with clinicians and other stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that digital systems are designed and configured to meet those needs.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of digital health systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with digital health systems.
  • Provide training and support to staff on the use of digital health systems.
  • Audit and evaluate the effectiveness of the training provided and make recommendations for improvements. This includes continuous self-evaluation of personal performance.

  • Utilise integration capabilities within the TPP SystmOne electronic patient record in order to simplify end-user processes and facilitate data flows so that operational use of the system is efficient and minimises risk.
  • Produce and localise training materials for all courses ensuring that they reflect current business requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical solutions so that the reporting and end user operational processes are well established and safely deployed.
  • Monitor systems error messaging/alerts and take responsive action either as prescribed by system documentation or by the service need.
  • Provide specialist knowledge of the organisations digital health solutions so that the future business needs and organisational strategy can be best guided to focus attention on the digital needs of services and patient care.
  • Take a proactive approach to ensuring new and existing users know how to use current Information Systems. Advise on potential enhancements to system configuration.
  • Work alongside systems trainers to develop training packages and provide specialist knowledge to project groups for more complex elements of system administration such as the development of clinical pathway configuration.
  • Produce software specification documents and content for training manuals and report specifications as required (in relation to system implementations).
  • Ensure effective information governance and adherence to Caldicott principles, implementing policies and procedures to deliver appropriate practice.
  • Receive, access and respond to user queries, providing problem solving support and follow-up where required.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Information Technology or Software related degree, equivalent qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Recognised teaching or training qualification (e.g. IIIT training diploma or Certificate in Education and Training level 3) or a minimum of 6 months training experience.
  • TPP Accreditation in Community Core Module.

Desirable

  • Microsoft certification.
  • Information Technology qualification at National Level or above (e.g., BTEC Higher National Certificate/Diploma or NVA Level 4).
  • Informatics qualification.
