Job summary
We are really excited to be recruiting a part time therapist to our small and cohesive Speech and Language Therapy team. We are fortunate to be the providers of the service across both acute and community settings (including a regular videofluoroscopy clinic) enabling a seamless patient journey. The postholder will have excellent links with the whole Speech and Language Therapy Service as well as the ECCH Neurology MDT. We place a high value on team working and you will need to be patient focused, outcome driven and flexible in your approach.
Benefits £1,500 Golden Hello payment, paid in three installments.
This post attracts a "Golden Hello" payment of £1,500 (taxable): £500 will become payable on appointment, a further £500 will become payable after 6 months in post and the final £500 will become payable after 12 months in post (pro rata if applicable). Please note that the Golden Hello is not available to internal applicants.
Hybrid working could be considered. This post is 22.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have the opportunity to work with adults with acquired and progressive communication and swallowing disorders accross various community settings within the East Coast Community Healthcare CIC (ECCH) geographical boundaries. This may include community clinics in Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Lowestoft, Beccles, Southwold, Beccles community hospital and seeing patients in their homes. You will be responsible for supervising a band 5 colleague and Speech and Language Therapy students from the University of East Anglia (UEA).
This post includes complex communication and dysphagia assessment and intervention in various community settings and so the post holder must have appropriate post graduate training and experience.
