Job summary

We are offering an exciting secondment opportunity to fill the role of Operational Manager LAC and Supporting Services.

The role covers 3 distinct areas:

1. Operational, Strategic and transformational leadership of the Looked After Children Service (LAC).

2. Operational, Strategic and transformational leadership of ECCHs Clinical Admin, Front of House services (Including Clinical Admin, ECCA, Medical Devices Management, Reception cover and KPI management/reporting).

3. Furthering ECCHs ambitions in relation to growing and developing services aimed at reducing health inequalities and improving our communitys wellbeing through transformation activities.

This role links into our transformation and digital agenda using a collaborative approach to redesign and develop services. You will need to demonstrate excellent leadership, effective management of complex situations and problem solving skills, alongside excellent communication, negotiation and team working skills.

Main duties of the job

Provide direct line management to the Looked After Children Service (LAC) Clinical Lead and day to day management of the LAC service.

Provide Leadership across all Operational administrative functions including the organisational front door (East Coast Community Access ECCA & Receptions).

Work with and provide support to the Deputy Director / Associate Directors of Operations in the oversight of the collective aspects of reporting, performance and data analysis

To lead on planning, development and transformation of administrative functions, maintaining excellent relationships with service leads and their teams, coaching and facilitating teams in service redesign to deliver significant improvement in service productivity and efficiency, whilst establishing a single point of access for service users

Provide Leadership, motivation and inspiration to admin, clerical and clinical staff in relation to the importance of robust administration systems and to demonstrate to them how those systems dovetail with clinical service provision leading to the ultimate outcome of improved service delivery and service user experience.

Lead on initial analysis and scoping activities associated with Health Inequalities and Health and Wellbeing transformation programmes and projects.

To coordinate and support the development of service models, relating to Health Inequalities and Health and Wellbeing, and aid in the development of associated business cases.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Deputise for the Executive Director of Operations and the Operational Leadership in line with portfolio as required.

Manage recruitment and retention of staff, skill mix and team development within own portfolio.

Be responsible for bringing together service-relevant governance issues through sharing of incidents, risk stratification etc.

Undertake with others, continuous evaluation of services to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet the relevant Quality standards.

Hold the budget and understand the financial position in own service areas maintaining budgetary oversight and control; work with finance team to ensure best use of financial resources.

Ensure direct reports and their teams understand and work within appropriate Human Resources policies and staff management procedures.

Provide positive cultural leadership to effectively manage and facilitate positive cultural change and to contribute to, support and promote ECCHs, strategic direction, values and culture in relation to Operational services.

Work in partnership with ECCHs Commercial and Transformation Team to develop the portfolio and grow services accordingly.

Work in partnership with ECCHs Director of Health Inequalities to develop ECCHs services in a manner that aims to reduce health inequalities across our communities.

In conjunction with the operational leadership work closely with Business Intelligence, Contracts team and transformation team to ensure KPI monitoring, and reporting is scrutinised and sense-checked prior to submission to commissioners.

Identify service and process improvement initiatives to improve the performance of services and to be responsible for the planning and implementation of these initiatives, including policy development, working closely with all associated stakeholders, including clinical leads and senior managers across the whole of the Operations directorate.

To co-produce with other Operational Service Leads plans for a wide range of administrative services to improve efficiency, access and support to Operational teams and functions.

Accessing and auditing of SystmOne records for the investigation of complaints and to support analysis of performance data.
