Job summary

The main purpose of this role is to help develop ECCHs digital offerings including web development, digital applications, interfaces and graphic design elements associated with the content that services within ECCH wish to publish.

As part of the ICT team there is a requirement to support all ECCHs web functions. This includes the external websites (corporate & service based) as well as internal resources such as the corporate intranet. Involvement in the support of other clinical systems such as SystmOne may also be required when needed.

You would be joining us at an exciting time, with a number of challenging projects aimed at improving the digital offerings we provide.

Main duties of the job

Duties include: -

Provide support and advice on web development, configuration and use to support all aspects of care, service planning, policymaking and accountability.

Support the implementation of any modifications to existing and new digital offerings. e.g., testing changes, applying modifications, supporting users, managing content.

Undertake regular reviews of digital applications and web services, identifying best practice, issues and improvements.

Carry out regular functionality tests, ensuring that web sites and applications are performing as required without errors.

Monitor systems error messaging/alerts and take responsive action either as prescribed by system documentation or by the service need.

Job responsibilities

Carry out regular web system administration as required.

Develop ECCHs Application platforms to ensure they meet the evidence based and clinical requirements outlined by the patient facing services.

Support the implementation of any modifications to existing and new digital offerings. e.g., testing changes, applying modifications, supporting users, managing content.

Carry out regular functionality tests, ensuring that web sites and applications are performing as required without errors.

Monitor systems error messaging/alerts and take responsive action either as prescribed by system documentation or by the service need.

Produce and maintain documentation and content for ECCHs digital developments e.g., Documentation & Change logs for ECCH public facing webpages and applications.

Ensure effective information governance and adherence to Caldicott principles, implementing policies and procedures to deliver appropriate practice.

Participate when required, as part of the wider team in providing support to users of the ECCH clinical information systems.

Receive, access and respond to user queries, providing problem solving support and follow-up where required.

Actively participate in a programme of continual improvement for the service.

Developing digital content and use of application programme interfaces to ensure the smooth flow of data through ECCHs environment and minimising duplication by enhancing clinical care efficiencies wherever possible.

System Improvements

Undertake regular reviews of digital applications and web services, identifying best practice, issues and improvements and submitting these to the Head of ICT for agreement.

Roll out in a coherent planned way all changes to web systems and applications after first testing them on the dedicated test unit and demo systems.

Keep up to date with developments in the current web and app industry (specifically health) to ensure ECCH keeps in front of innovation.

Liaise with the providers of outsourced web services to ensure ECCH are best placed to be involved in innovation and testing.

General

To work flexibly to meet the demands of the organisation and availability of staff.

To participate in ongoing professional development to maintain skills and knowledge as software is developed.
