Rehab Assistant £33,262 - £36,027 inc HCAS pro rata per annum inc HCAS pro rata per annum Permanent - 37.5 per week - Monday to Friday. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Integrated Therapy Service within Bromley Healthcare. We are looking for a band 4 Rehab Assistant to work alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists providing treatment to patients within their own home. The post holder will hold a small caseload and be responsible for progressing simple rehab programmes, providing basic equipment provision, Walking aid provision, mobility assessments, referring on to external support services and reviewing and discharging patients with overall supervision from a registered member of staff. This role is Monday to Friday working and covers the Borough of Bromley
Main duties of the job
To be a member of a therapy team providing Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy assessments and reviews within a high quality service to Bromley patients under supervision from senior Therapists. The post holder will hold a small caseload and be responsible for progressing simple rehab programmes, providing basic equipment provision, Walking aid provision, mobility assessments, referring on to external support services and reviewing and discharging patients with overall supervision from a registered member of staff.It is accepted that at times the Rehab Assistant will work without supervision, carrying out established plans of care with goals, joint working with Physiotherapy colleagues and Occupational Therapists. This role will be based in the Adult Integrated Therapies Team.

- To be responsible for own clinical caseload of patients as allocated by a qualified Occupational Therapist and/or Physiotherapist.
- To complete new patient assessments, as deemed appropriate by the Occupational Therapist, integrating occupational therapy and physiotherapy assessments into one holistic assessment.
- Joint working with Senior Therapists.
- Carry out falls risk assessments in line with completed competencies.
- To carry out manual handling with patients according to Bromley Healthcare guidelines alongside qualified staff and to be responsible for the safe and competent use of manual handling equipment.
- To implement and progress patient management and treatment plans within scope of practice and in line with competencies whilst under the supervision of a senior therapist.
- Assessment for and provision of basic equipment needs in line with competencies.
- Responsible for referring to an occupational therapist/Physiotherapist for complex equipment assessments. It is expected the post holder will complete a level 3 trusted assessor program which will enable them to prescribe basic equipment independently.
- To assist in vital sign interpretation - establishing changes from normal parameters and/or baseline measurements i.e. oxygen saturations, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations and take appropriate action.
- To support patients on a one to one basis (in their own homes) using appropriate rehabilitation techniques which will include, but not be limited to:
- Indoor and outdoor functional tasks.
- Practice of activities of daily living
o Cognitive screening under the supervision of a qualified therapist
o Joint visits with Qualified Occupational Therapists/Physiotherapists
