Children's Occupational Therapy UTS Project Manager

£61,631 - £68,623 pa pro rata inclusive of Hcas

We are excited to advertise a role to help shape the future provision of Children's Occupational Therapy in schools across Bromley. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Children's Occupational Therapist who can work as a Project Manager to support the move to a Universal, Targeted, Specialist (UTS) model of provision. This is a part time 2 days per week fixed term role for 6 months. You will be required to work closely with Bromley Healthcare's Children's Occupational Therapy service and educational establishments across Bromley to scope need, create resource and deliver the implementation plan required.

Main duties of the job

The Borough of Bromley would like to move towards a Universal, Targeted, Specialist (UTS) Model of service provision across Children's Therapy Teams. The evidence base behind this is within Marie Gasgoine's 'The Balanced System' approach https://www.thebalancedsystem.org/

This role is a temporary role to scope the requirements of the Occupational Therapy provision across Bromley providers to move to this UTS Model of service delivery within the next academic year. Working closely with other therapy teams who are implementing this model, you will scope the potential, background work required, creating an implementation plan for moving to this new service model for Occupational Therapy.

Job responsibilities

The post holder is responsible to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk.

The Childrens OT UTS Project Manager will work across all community services provided by Bromley Healthcare and the London Borough of Bromley in order to:

Undertake a review of existing Occupational Therapy provision in relation to areas that can move into the Universal, Targeted, Specialist levels of service delivery.

Scope what resources are in use within healthcare, education and social care that can move into the Universal, Targeted, Specialist levels of service delivery.

Research similar models of service delivery within Children's Occupational Therapy to determine evidence base, experiential achievements and practical considerations within implementation.

Engage with local providers of Occupational Therapy services and related services eg. Health Visiting to ensure a holistic approach across health, education and social care.

Create resources, plan and deliver training to education and healthcare staff within schools and SEND teams locally to create the Universal level of service provision for Occupational Therapy needs.

Work closely with Bromley Healthcares Speech and Language Therapy service to learn from their delivery of a UTS Model of delivery in mainstream schools.

Create an implementation plan for the implementation of the UTS Model for Occupational Therapy across Bromley.

Engage with children, parents and key stakeholders across health, education and social care sectors. Utilise parent and teacher webinars to engage and communicate with others.

This is a largely autonomous role, and the post-holder will be a self-starter with significant senior level NHS or local authority service clinical Occupational Therapy and project management experience.
