Health Visitor vacancy in Bromley Borough - Band 6

£42,939 - £50,697 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata (salary is based on experience)

Full time and Part time hours will be considered

Bromley Healthcare are seeking Health Visitors who are keen to develop their leadership skills and sphere of influence and are keen to shape the future of Public Health Nursing in Bromley.

We are invested in the development of Health Visiting and School Nursing and this is underpinned by our Public Health Nursing strategy and training programme for all roles within the PHN teams.

All Health Visitors and Community Nursery Nurses have corporate membership with the Institute of Health Visiting (iHV) which offers a wealth of professional training programmes and resources to support excellent practice.

Current vacancies are within the Central Bromley team, and the Orpington team.

Main duties of the job

Work as part of an integrated team and lead on the delivery of the healthy child programme

Identify health needs through an ecological assessment and in partnership with families, agree personalised plans to address the needs.

Delegate aspects of care to the Community Nursery Nurses and Staff Nurses within the skill mix team.

Engage and participate in service improvement.

Continuously learn to develop your own skills and those of others.

Work in partnership with clients and other partners, assess healthcare needs to develop and evaluate programmes to address the health needs of the population

Work in collaboration with other health care and service providers to ensure seamless delivery of services for clients and communities

Job responsibilities

  • Support collecting data to inform the performance management framework for the service ensuring team members are completing timely and accurate data collection via EMIS.
  • To liaise with the School Health Service, with particular reference to vulnerable children, their families and children with special needs.
  • To participate in regular clinical supervision.
  • To plan and record individual programmes of care for children and families.
  • To assist in the identification of local health needs and ensure the optimum use of resources.
  • Delegate work to Community Nursery Nurses that is within the sphere of competence of the skill mix and assist in training.
  • The post holder must carry out their responsibilities with due regard to Bromley Healthcares Equality and Diversity policy.   • RGN, RM, RSCN RHV Certificate/Diploma/Degree or equivalent or undertaking at time of interview (if offered a job it would be dependent on successfully completing course).

  • NMC registration as Nurse or midwife and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse

  • Experience in supervising / assessing students / holds a mentorship qualification
