Speech & Language Therapist - Specialist Paediatric Dysphagia- Band 7
£49,178 - £55,492 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata
37.5 hours per week (Part-time hours available)
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated Speech and Language Therapist with specialist skills in dysphagia and pre school complex needs to join our friendly and supportive team You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic with an ability to work independently but also work well within a team.
We are looking to recruit a Specialist SLT who is experienced in working dysphagia with babies, toddlers and pre school children and children with complex needs, including Down Syndrome.
The postholder would have support from the Highly Specialist Dysphagia team lead and work with a dysphagia team as well as the full team.
The postholder will provide a speech and language therapy service to clients and their families.
Successful band 7 applicants will provide leadership and operational management to the SLT team and will have developed skills in a specialist area.

Main duties of the job
Bromley Healthcare are investing in our Children's Speech and Language Therapy service with opportunities across the board covering a school buy in service and our core health activities.
The post holder will be responsible to manage the assessment and treatment of the children in these caseloads. They will have the opportunity to develop their clinical skills at a specialist level.
They will be able to contribute to in-service training within the department and to take responsibility for supervision of students and more junior staff. The post holder will work with the service lead to manage waiting times and to develop and implement a tiered model of working across universal, targeted and specialist levels

You will be responsible for the management, assessment and treatment of the children on these caseloads with the dysphagia team.

7. To make a differential diagnosis based on evidence from assessment, leading to decisions about intervention/treatment.
8. To communicate complex condition related information, from assessment to patients/clients, carers, families and members of the multi disciplinary team/otherprofessions.

- Recognised speech & language therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
- Courses and experience to a Specialist Dysphagia Practitioner level with babies and small children ( as described in the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists Inter-professional dysphagia framework

- Registered member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
