Job summary
37.5 hours per week. Livewell Southwest is looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Physiotherapist to join our 6 monthly rotational scheme in a variety of settings across Plymouth. This post would suit a newly qualified physio (to benefit from our preceptorship programme) or an experienced Band 5 looking to broaden their experience. The rotation is integrated with our neighbouring organisation, University Hospitals Plymouth, to provide both acute and community rotations, making the rotation a fantastic opportunity to gain a wide ranging experience of Physiotherapy services.
Permanent role up to 37.5 hours per week

This post is open to third year physiotherapy students who are able to start by August 2024.

Main duties of the job
The posts will enable the successful applicant to gain experience in a range of clinical settings including Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Community Rehabilitation and Crisis Response, Neurological Rehabilitation (both inpatient and outpatient), Respiratory, Intensive care, Trauma and Orthopaedics and Hospital Rehabilitation (both acute and community). The ability to travel across various sites is essential and the individual will be required on occasion to participate in 7 day, evening and bank holiday working.
In all these areas you will be supported by experienced clinicians who are specialists in their field.
These posts are exciting opportunities to develop your clinical skills within musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory and health care of the elderly rehabilitation and participate in current service developments. Key clinical elements of the posts include: assessment and treatment, working jointly with Occupational Therapists and other Health and Social Care Professionals. There are many opportunities to develop further clinical and managerial skills within Livewell Southwest. We provide support through regular line management and practice supervision, as well as provision of in-service training and a journal club across the services.
