Livewell Southwest has an exciting opportunity within the Plym Neurological Rehabilitation Unit (PNRU) and the Community Neuro Rehab Team (CNRT).
The services are looking to recruit x2 Band 6 Occupational Therapists that will work as part of a 12-month rotation between the two teams.
This is a new opportunity for OTs that have a keen interest in neuro-rehabilitation. In the future there is the possibility the rotation may be expanded further, to include acute neurology and inpatient stroke rehabilitation.
The Plym Neuro Rehab Unit is the regional level 2a unit and provides intensive inpatient neuro rehabilitation to patients from Devon and Cornwall.
The CNRT has recently received significant financial investment and has redesigned the service to deliver the ICSS model of care for stroke patients post hospital admission and neurological patients requiring rehabilitation. This service is offered to patients within Plymouth, South Hams & West Devon.
Both teams have recently relocated to the Local Care Centre, Mount Gould Hospital, Plymouth and have brand new facilities to meet the needs of patients and staff.
The post holder would need to work flexibly, potentially covering 7 day working, core office hours.

Main duties of the job
An experienced and specialised Occupational Therapist who will act with the Team Lead to plan, co-ordinate, deliver, develop, and evaluate the service on a day-to-day basis.
The post holder will be clinically responsible for the provision of a quality Occupational therapy service with the guidance from the Team Lead, whilst working as a member of the MDT.
To provide advice, signposting, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, patients, carers, relatives or other non-professional contacts.
To be an integral member of the MDT providing education, training and dissemination of information to all healthcare professionals.
To be an autonomous practitioner, holding a caseload and working without direct supervision.
To continue own professional development in line with HCPC regulations.
Each rotation will be nine months in length.
If the opportunity arises, there is potential for this rotation to expand into other organisations in the future.
