coach and develop a team of multi-disciplinary mental health professionals
listening to staffs individual needs and concerns, and maintain a high level of
direct clinical contact.
Main duties of the job
This
is a varied role as Practice Lead, you will also have the opportunity to
provide specialist clinical input, as well as offering supervision and
consultation to others. You will also represent the team at a variety of
clinical and operational and service development meetings and forums, and have
the opportunity to participate in, and lead on aspects of service development.
Some experience of service and project management, (or willingness to develop
these skills), is desirable.

The post holder will act as a Key worker
for a defined group of patients and organise care in accordance with the
Personalised Care Framework.
Provision of case load supervision for
Band 5 mental health practitioners and line management.
To contribute to professional
development, appraisal, performance review and recruitment.
Be responsible for the management of caseloads.
Carry out reviews of caseloads and support the process of recovery.
The post-holder will take part in the
clinical audit of the CMHS/MAIS. This will include annual audits.
The post holder will ensure that their
clinical practice is based on evidence and good practice and in accordance with
any NICE guidance.
The post holder will be individually
accountable for their practice in accordance with the NMC or HPC professional
code of conduct.
To promote positive risk to allow
clients independence and autonomy of choice.
To liaise with other community resources
and facilitate use of mainstream resources.
To maintain a caseload of clients with a
significant degree of mental health complexity.
To participate in the shift lead and
provide appropriate supervision.
Practice within the legal and ethical
framework set out by mental health related legislation to ensure that service
users interests and well-being are at the fore.
Liaise, advise, develop and maintain
good relationships with service users, carers, relatives and fellow health,

Engage in support and care plans for
those who have complex needs, high risk behaviors and risk assess and manage

Act upon referrals from secondary mental

engage in mental health services.
Implement and participate in the
formulation of all policy and procedures within the area of responsibility in
consultation with relevant others.
Plan, with teaching establishments, a
realistic learning experience for students and for postgraduate students and be
responsible for the quality of the program.
Participate in and support training programs
designed for all staff groups.
Monitor standards of practice within the
team, ensuring areas of deficit are addressed through audit.
Co-ordinate the collation of evidence
within the team in support of standards for better health improving quality.
