An exciting opportunity has arisen within
Livewell Southwest CAMHS Neuro developmental team and we are looking to recruit
a band 3 Community Support Worker to work in the intensive support part of the Neurodiversity
Pathway with children who have or are suspected as having a neurodevelopmental
disorder and are presenting in crisis. The post will be based at the Terraces
on the Mount Gould Hospital site, the team works closely with all other
specialist CAMHS teams.
The CAMHS Neurodiversity Pathway work with
children and young people aged between 5 & 18 and their families/carers. We
are fundamentally positioned within the wider network of services for children
and young people across Plymouth which supports multi-disciplinary working.
This role is central to the CAMHS strategy of
collaboration to reduce health inequalities across the city as well as
improving access to mental health services.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will
be responsible for supporting the emotional, psychological and social wellbeing
of children and young people with neuro developmental Disorders such as Autism
Spectrum Condition, ADHD and Tourettes Syndrome.
The post holder will
offer support and guidance to young people who are presenting in crisis. They
will also offer support to the young persons family and there will be a high
level of engagement with schools and other agencies involved in the childs
life.
The
post holder will provide psycho education to young people and families around
their diagnoses and will work with them on the triggers for their presenting
difficulties. They will also attend meetings with the wider network.
The
post holder will observe children in schools and provide a report of their
findings in order to assist in a wider neuro developmental assessment.

Ensure planned interventions are
implemented effectively and evaluated using Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROMS)
Maintain standards of care to highest
level within available resources.
To actively participate in line
management with senior members of staff.
To liaise effectively with the other
CAMHS community teams across the city.
To develop and maintain relationships
with providers statutory and non-statutory.
To maintain confidentiality in respect
of the young people at all times.
Communicate clearly with children and
young people, their families and all other health professional groups about
their health problems.
Actively participate in clinical
governance and quality improvement initiatives, e.g. clinical audit, essence of
care or clinical policy development.
Ensure that children and young people
