Job summary

This exciting new role is part of our Neurodiversity Transformation Programme and is building on the successful LDAP (Learning Disability and Autism Pathway) Keyworker pilot that was designed in partnership with NHS England. The Neurodiversity Navigator role will be to support the child, young person and their families who are awaiting assessment for a diagnosis. They will focus on the young persons needs, supporting the family to navigate the system and access local support whilst waiting for their assessment.

We will continue to deliver a new way of supporting Children, Young People (CYP) and their family/carers that are having difficulties with any neurodiverse presentations. This role will enable CYP and their family/carers to get the right support at the right time and ensure local systems are responsive to meeting their needs in a holistic and joined up way.

We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive candidates who want to make a difference to the lives of Children and Young People in Devon. We are looking to recruit multiple positions to work across education, health, social care and local communities to enable whole systems to change and embed principles of transforming care and SEND reforms to improve the experience of CYP and families/carers.

Please note that these roles are being hosted by Livewell but will be locality based across the Devon foot print and posts will be working as part of the local multi agency response in Devon, Torbay and Plymouth.

Main duties of the job

The principal purpose of the job is to improve the health & wellbeing of children, young people, young adults, and their families/carers with a range of mental health difficulties.

We are recruiting a team of Neurodiversity Navigators that will provide support across the Devon County footprint. You will be based in locations across the county to provide local support for our families in an attempt to reach out to as many as possible.

  • Support with navigating the complex networks of health, education, social care, community and voluntary services

Job responsibilities
