Job summary
We
are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual, to work 37.5 hours over 5-days, Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, to assist
a multi-skilled team of tradesmen to
undertake planned and reactive maintenance as well as alterations and
improvement works within properties on the Livewell Southwest estate.
As
the successful applicant, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring that
the grounds of our estate, spread across Plymouth and South West Devon, are
kept in good condition and present the estate in a positive way. This will
involve maintaining lawns, shrubs, hedges, borders etc as well as undertaking
maintenance tasks such as gutter and gulley clearing and ensuring grounds,
roadways and paths are safe at all times of the year. You will have the
opportunity to develop the grounds in a positive way and improve their overall
appeal to the benefit of patients, staff and visitors. The role will involve
the use of a variety of grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers,
chainsaws, blowers, strimmers, pesticide applicators etc.
You will also be required to work
on your own after having gained experience of the sites.
Good
communication skills and a willingness to undertake training are required. You
must be numerate and literate, with good written skills.
You
must be able to work overtime at short notice, if required, and have the
ability to travel across Plymouth.
Main duties of the job
To
maintain the grounds and gardens of Livewell Southwests managed properties to
the required standards. To maintain and
repair landscaping features. To ensure
that the fabric of Livewell Southwests grounds and gardens provides a pleasant
and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff ensuring that health and
safety requirements and regulations are adhered to at all times.
To serve as part of the maintenance team to
deliver high quality care through effective and efficient operation and
maintenance of all healthcare building services.
To
comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Statutory legislation and seek to
apply best working practice at all times.
Please note that this role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route
The post holder will need to travel and attend various sites based across Plymouth and other geographical areas. Full and valid driving licence and access to a car for work purposes is required. Reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act will be taken into account for the successful applicant.

highest levels of safety at all times.
Undertake
appropriate fault finding, investigation and testing of grounds maintenance
plant and equipment.
