We
are delighted to invite applications for the above post in the Child &
Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Plymouth based
with our Infant mental health team pathway but working across the CAMHS 0-18 service.
The post is for up to six years, to include a two-year pre-clinical
component (the Observation Course, M7) and four years of the clinical
training. The
funding for the six-year post covers: tuition fees and a contribution to travel
expenses for two years of pre-clinical training (M7). You will be expected to
remain in your current employment for the first pre-clinical year. In the second pre-clinical year, you will
take up a post as an Trainee Child Psychotherapist within Plymouth CAMHS (
top of Band 5). Fees for personal
psychoanalysis will also be provided in the second pre-clinical year. Successful
applicants for the six-year post will either need to have commenced upon, or
apply to and be accepted upon, the pre-clinical Observation Course. The pre-clinical training (2 years) is at B5 and then B6 for the remaining 4 years of the training.

Main duties of the job
Successful
applicants for the six-year post will either need to have commenced upon, or
apply to and be accepted upon, the pre-clinical Observation Course.
To
proceed to the clinical training, candidates will need to apply
independently and at the appropriate time to one of the Training Schools
accredited by the Association of Child Psychotherapists. Acceptance by one of
the Training Schools is not assured by being offered one of these funded traineeships.
If the applicant is not successful with their application to the full clinical
training at one of the Training Schools, their contract with Livewell South
West Plymouth CAMHS will be terminated.
The service
community-based, innovative and needs-led response to children and young people
across the full care pathway. Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy is well respected in the Service, and the successful applicant will join an established Service.
