Participating in & completing audit & audit action plans

Keeping up to date with national drivers of change & engaging proactively

- SCOPE & RANGE
The scope of this role is to develop & implement the Mental Health Support Team 3 Core Functions across schools in Plymouth and support the manager in ensuring the standards are held and practitioners are supported in their roles
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Practice Quality & Workforce Development
Take the lead, in consultation with services , in being responsible for the coordination of multi-disciplinary team working & engagement in service delivery in line with practice standards.
Ensuring the safety & effectiveness of the service through the implementation of effective risk management, governance & assurance systems
Support the Team Manager & Operational Management Team in the development of the workforce.

Practice in a way that actively minimises dependency & promotes recovery.
Communicate information in a way that makes it relevant & understandable for service users & carers, working to the principles of the services policy implementation guidelines & practice in line with the standards & values.

Knowledge, Training & Experience
Responsible for updating their own practice, knowledge & skills within their sphere of practice including Organisation mandatory training.
Expert Knowledge of working within a mental health service and those children SEND needs; Neuro typical children and those with learning disabilities, &/or other relevant experience that is transferable.
Knowledge of Policy & Legislation.
Knowledge of Mental Health & Mental Health Service delivery.

The post holder will provide mental health care & other interventions in the setting most appropriate.

Responsibility for ensuring there is appropriate co-ordination of each shift ensuring allocation of work with the available skill mix. Prioritising & delegation skills will be required.
Ensure that relevant team members take a lead in clinical/professional meetings ensuring all patients are reviewed & decisions & plans are put into action & represent the patients views.
Attend Multi-disciplinary meetings for the protection of users, carers, staff & public e.g. Adult Protection, Case Conference Child Protection, Risk Management.
Clinical/Professional Responsibilities
The post holder is accountable for the direct patient care/support always provided by the service.
Ensure there are appropriately skilled clinicians/professionals available.
Work as part of the team in a clinical/professional capacity where appropriate
Take a lead role in supporting the team in the identification of risk and the formulation of risk management plans.
Ensure that the team plan follow up care/support if indicated.
Collaborate with other Teams & Services in the provision of care/support for young people & children

Responsibility for administration
Responsible for the organisation of all record keeping within the team & to ensure records reach standards appropriate to all codes of practice & policy.
Responsible for individual recording of clinical/care records & monitoring the quality of data provided by other team members.
Responsible for electronic records contacts & monitor the standard of work of junior staff.
Maintain accurate, timely paper & electronic records. Responsibility for the safe storage of in accordance with Organisation Policy.
Maintain own electronic diary as per Organisation policy.
Responsible for the ongoing improvement in data entry quality ensuring that records meet National Mental Health Minimum Data set requirements.
Responsibility for people who use our services.
No direct responsibility for service users but needs to develop the service with due regard to the needs of children young people and families who may use this service.
Responsibility for implementation of policy &/or service developments
Responsible for the on-going practice development of MHST .
Adhere to national, local & Department of Health Policies where appropriate.

The Senior Lead along with the Organisation will provide high quality interventions to eligible children & young people post holder will ensure that services are provided within National, Local & practice guidelines so that:
