Job summary

Provide are seeking a Band 2 Housekeeper/Hostess to work on our community ward in Brentwood where we specialise in stroke rehabilitation.

The purpose of the role is to provide an efficient and effective catering, cleaning and housekeeping service according to all Organisational policies and procedures to always ensure the highest standards of service.

Main duties of the job

  • To prepare meals and snacks with the kitchen team according to patient's dietary requirements and liaise with nursing staff surrounding any changes to patient's diets. Having an understanding or awareness of the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) is preferred.
  • To oversee housekeeping duties in partnership with the supervisor and as detailed in the Provide Cleaning Guidelines.
  • Monitoring and ordering stock and storing appropriately for the patient kitchen.
  • To have an understanding of protocols, organisational policies and departmental procedures and adhere to them.
  • To ensure that the health and wellbeing of patients is at the centre of all activities and that all staff engage and communicate with patients as appropriate.

  • Working with the ward team to ensuring all defects are logged and reported immediately.
  • To ensure effective risk management by accident/incident reporting.
  • Basic administration duties.

  • To undertake and statutory and mandatory training as provided by the Organisation and participate in an annual PDR, where working practices may be reviewed, and objectives set.
