Job summary
We are looking to recruit domestic service assistants to join our team within the Facilities Department at Halstead Hospital, for day and evening positions.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing a high quality domestic and catering service.
The ability to work effectively and flexibly, both alone and as part of a team, maintaining a high standard of work will be essential.
Training in Basic Food Hygiene and Health and Safety will be provided.
Main duties of the job
Cleaning all ward areas to a high standard and providing a catering service to patients, serving breakfast, lunch and supper and beverages throughout the day

- To undertake routine, specific and deep cleaning tasks as required.
- To use cleaning materials as necessary to undertake the variety of cleaning tasks required and as directed by the Team Leader.
- To regenerate cook/freeze meals recording the temperatures of food prior to serving
- To ensure kitchen equipment, regeneration equipment and all surfaces are clean at all times
- To ensure food is ready to be served at the correct times for service and all waste food is discarded immediately after service.
- To ensure the dining room is cleaned after each meal.
- To wash up all crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils after meals and breaks.
