The Integrated Essex Sexual Health Service gives a chance to work in a team environment, delivering a high standard of evidence based integrated sexual health practice. Main duties of the job
The post combines front of house roles , such as meeting and greeting and client registration , support tasks, such as stock organisation and clinic set up and close down, and back of house clinical support including assisting with clinical procedures and acting as a chaperone. Clinical tasks and delivery of health promotion/ information sessions in various clinical and non-clinical environments.
The post involves the use of the electronic record system, assisting with specimen preparation, set up and cleaning of equipment and checking clinical areas and equipment in line with Health and Safety and infection prevention policies.
The post holder will be supported by both a first line manager and an allocated clinical supervisor to ensure the provision of adequate training for additional development and appropriate delegated clinical intervention.
The post holder will be required to participate in a rota to cover the Saturday sessions as part of contracted role.

- To accurately record and amend client information to acceptable data quality standards using the manual systems in place and any new electronic systems as they are introduced. Undertake general administration as directed
- To ensure that the all operational areas are tidy at all times
- To liaise with clinical and other staff both virtually and directly as required to ensure the smooth running of the centre and to understand the importance of team work
- Support communication and cross team working with other teams in sexual health network
- To ensure that telephone queries are dealt with promptly and efficiently, and relay messages to staff accurately via electronic and direct methods
- To participate and assist in evaluation and feedback
- To attend team and departmental meetings and actively participate in service improvement
- To assist clients requiring interpreting and other language and communication support by arranging specialist service intervention, for example interpreting service
- To act as chaperone during intimate procedures
- To work with line manager to establish evidence of development in accordance with department support worker competency record and actively engaging with competence reviews and follow-up
- Participate in results management process under direction of clinician

- To demonstrate and distribute condoms to clients using the Provide eC- Card protocol on satisfactory completion of relevant training
- To undertake appropriate training linked to the development of protocol led clinical tasks as directed by supervising clinician and apply to practice:

- Asymptomatic STI testing and test of cure
- Microscopy
- Pre long acting reversible contraception consultation
- First level telephone triage (Intelligence Centre support)
- Medication administration support
- Vaccination
- Cryotherapy
