As part of the recognition of the need to develop and adapt our services to meet the ever-changing needs of our communities, we are seeking a Head of Digital Transformation to be our internal subject matter expert on digital matters.

The role will be the key link for managing our outsourced IT contract whilst also working internally with transformation leads, clinical leaders and frontline teams to develop and implement IT solutions that make a real difference for patients and staff.

The Head of Digital Transformation is the lead role within the Digital Team who will act as a well-integrated enabler for the trust.

Main duties of the job

The role will be highly autonomous with a huge opportunity to shape and develop a small in-house digital team as part of the wider transformation directorate. CityCare has nearly 1200 committed employees, who are all be touched by digital in their current day-to-day activities, so the role presents massive prospects for the right individual to influence change.

The post holder will be responsible for leading the delivery of complex and large-scale digital transformation programmes, projects and digital assignments as outlined in the Digital strategy, CityCare Organisational Strategy, and aspects of the Integrated Care System Digital and Data Strategy. They will also cover the line management and performance of the Digital Team. In addition, the post holder will also support the contract management of existing IT contracts.

The Head of Digital Transformation will lead a small in-house digital team, working with services to design solutions that drive service/clinical effectiveness, patient experience and productivity.

Job Purpose

The Head of Digital Transformation is the lead role within the Digital Team who will act as a well-integrated enabler for the trust.

The post holder will be responsible for leading the delivery of complex and large-scale digital transformation programmes, projects and digital assignments as outlined in the Digital strategy, CityCare Organisational Strategy, and aspects of the Integrated Care System Digital and Data Strategy. They will also cover the line management and performance of the Digital Team. In addition, the post holder will also support the contract management of existing IT contracts.

These digital transformation projects will support quality and service improvements for the organisation and the wider ICS with the post holder providing advice, support, and programme management of internal and contracted resources to successfully deliver required outcomes.

Dimensions

  • Finance: The post holder will have delegated budgetary responsibility for the function and the services provided within the digital function. This will include evaluating the value for money of new contracts, sub-contracts, monitoring the performance of existing providers and ensuring that provider performance aligns, and complies, with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Workforce: The post holder will directly lead the Digital team comprising of six (6) posts with line management for (3) three roles
  • Quality: The post holder will ensure that quality is considered as a priority within both service provision and solutions developed are adequately appraised for quality impacts

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide business relationship advice, guidance, and support to the NCCP senior leaders
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to help identify viable business opportunities that support internal and external goals and objectives.
  • Assist professionals involved in service delivery to understand their business requirements and how these aims and objectives can be achieved by working differently. Advise on innovative opportunities and support service in their strategies and initiatives to maximise service benefits.
  • Support new partnerships while retaining existing relationships.
  • Support the Associate Director of Sustainability and Transformation in developing the strategic direction for NCCP, in response to local and national priorities.
  • Engage with health and social care organisations within Nottinghamshire to ensure a system wide approach to initiatives is taken where this aligns with organisational priorities
  • Deputise for the Associate Director of Sustainability and Transformation where required.
  • Promote the CityCare Services within the Local Health Community and inform strategic planning.
  • Represent the CityCare at customer, contractual and operational forums.
  • Work with wider Health and Social Care organisations and clinical system suppliers to specify and cost upgrades and other changes to their clinical systems for inclusion in business cases.
  • Provide service and solution advice on Digital developments. Advise on the proposed system changes and other projects, such as building moves, representing the CityCare Digital Team at project meetings.
