Chair - (Lead the Future of Community Health)

Due to our current Chair coming to the end of their tenure, we are seeking a new Chair.

Nottingham CityCare Partnership (CityCare) is a community interest company that delivers vital Community Health Services on behalf of the NHS and Local Authorities. We are passionate about improving lives, making a positive difference while adding social value, and investing in the future of our local communities. We support the health and wellbeing of all local people, working alongside other health and care partners to achieve this.

Why now? This is a pivotal moment. As our new Chair, you will be joining us at an exciting time. We are launching our bold new 5-year strategy: Driving Excellence in Neighbourhood Health. From health visiting and family education to community nursing, providing an urgent treatment centre, to home-based rehabilitation, were bringing care closer to home and delivering on the ambitions of the NHS 10-year plan. Our dedicated staff, and values driven approach, means we have a passion for excellence, evidenced in our awarding winning services and strong reputation within the region.

Main duties of the job

Who we are looking for: We want a visionary leader to chair our Board and help shape the future of integrated, sustainable community services across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Ideally you will have worked (and/or lived) in the local health and care system within Nottingham, and/or Derby, Lincolnshire.

We are looking for an individual who has skills and experience to help drive the delivery of integrated and sustainable community services, working with our partners and communities to ensure accessible, equitable high-quality services which make a difference every day to the health & wellbeing of the people that we serve.

As a values driven individual, you will have the ability to inspire, influence and be able to combine your strong appreciation and knowledge of health and social care services, alongside your financial stewardship & commercial awareness. Including the ability to inspire, influence, and embed a culture of compassionate, high-quality care, for our patients and local communities.

Interviews anticipated end January/Early February.

Remuneration, Time Commitment and Tenure

The current remuneration for this role is £35,000 per annum

Location - Nottingham Ideal candidate will also have worked (and/or lived) in local health and care system within Nottingham, and/or Derby, Lincolnshire with a good understanding of current and future opportunities and challenges as a Community Interest Company (CIC).

The initial appointment will be for a period of three years after which you may be considered for further terms office, subject to the needs of the organisation and a good performance in the role.

On average you be required to work two days per week, including preparation time away from the organisation and any events designed to support your development. You will be given a considerable degree of flexibility to determine how you manage the time to understand this role.

Given the public profile of the Chair, it is important to have the ability to inspire confidence in our service users, commissioners, staff and the communities we serve.

Nottingham CityCare will make several specific background checks to ensure that the successful candidate are fit and proper people to hold this important role.

The Chair will lead the Board of Directors ensuring high standards of probity and governance prevail and that the organisation remains within its constitutional framework.
