We are seeking dynamic and innovative Registered Nurses or Midwives to undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) leading to a qualification and NMC registration as either a SCPHN Health Visitor or SCPHN School Nurse.
We welcome both internal and external applications from Nurses and Midwives who are passionate about pursuing a career working as a Specialist Practitioner in 0-19 childrens services.

within Nottingham City
CONTRACT: Training contract fixed term for 1 year
commencing September 2024. Internal candidates will be seconded from their

Main duties of the job
- The successful applicants will undertake a 1-year Diploma (PGDip). Academic work is carried out at Derby University and your placement will be within the Nottingham CityCare Childrens Public Health 0-19 Nursing Service where you will be supported by qualified mentors.
- As a Student SCPHN Health Visitor you will be supported within an integrated 0-19 team, to take the lead on the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme .
- As a Student SCPHN School Nurse you will be supported to learn how to work with children and young people between the ages of 5 and 19 via school drop in sessions and on the delivery of public health initiatives.
- SCPHN HV & SN will also be taught how to caseload manage the upper tiers to be able to support the children and families you have the privelige of working with.
- Nottingham CityCare expects to recruit SCPHN students to permanent posts on the successful completion of the course. Qualified SCPHN School Nurses and Health Visitors will be appointed to a Band 6 position.
It is essential that applicants hold a full UK Driving License and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes throughout the course.
