Nottingham CityCare Partnership CIC

MASH Practitioner

The closing date is 05 April 2026

Job summary

Are you passionate about promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people, and survivors of domestic abuse? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced safeguarding practitioner working in Nottingham City Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at a time of great change and reform within Childrens Services.

The post will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to work within a multi-agency team in partnership with a range of agencies from across the safeguarding partnership, such as the Police and Childrens Services, whilst also being a part of the wider CityCare Safeguarding Team. You will undertake a number of key functions within the MASH, sharing relevant health information to help ensure that children and young people in Nottingham City receive the right help at the right time.

The post holder will need to have robust safeguarding knowledge, and a solution-focused approach which will enable them to develop effective professional relationships with safeguarding partners. You will hold an active registration in a profession relevant to safeguarding (such as nursing, midwifery, teaching or social work) and have experience working directly with children and families - applying safeguarding policy and processes.

This is a 22 hour (3 days a week) 6 month secondment.

Working pattern: Monday Friday 9-5, however the post holder may be expected to work outside of these hours in exceptional circumstances.

Interview Date: 16th April 2026.

Main duties of the job

The MASH Practitioner will be responsible for the delivery of CityCare's key functions within the MASH including:

  • Ensuring health records are reviewed, analysed, and relevant information shared with Childrens Social Care in a timely manner where there are safeguarding concerns, domestic abuse incidents, or a request for additional support services has been made.
  • Attending strategy discussions as the health representative where there are concerns that a child has, or is likely to suffer, significant harm. You will contribute to the multi-agency decision making process, including any immediate or short-term actions required to safeguard the children.
  • Ensuring domestic abuse notifications are reviewed and recorded on SystmOne and are shared with the survivor's GPs and the Childrens Public Health 0-19 Nursing Service.
  • Adherence to CityCare's safeguarding and domestic sexual violence and abuse (DSVA) processes and policies, current legislation, and national and local guidance/procedures.
  • Contribution to delivery of the wider Safeguarding Teams core functions, such as delivery of training and attendance at multi-agency groups.
