Job summary
The Community Supportive and
Palliative Team are looking to recruit a part-time administrator working 15
hours per week over 2 days on an alternate weekly pattern.
The established team provides
education, advice, support and clinical care to patients across health and
social care settings within Nottingham City.
We are looking for an
enthusiastic, motivated and organised person to work with the established team
of nurses, physio, OT and administrator.
You will be working to support
the Palliative practitioners in the provision of administrative tasks and be
the main liaison for patients, members of the public and other health and
social care professionals from primary and secondary care.
An excellent telephone manner
is essential together with compassionate communication skills.
You must be able to prioritise
the varied tasks and manage your time and workload effectively.
The team hours are
Monday to Friday 8.30am 4.30pm excluding bank holidays and you are expected
to work flexibly to ensure the team is covered during these hours.
Main duties of the job
- To provide full clerical/ administrative support to the Palliative Care Team on a day to day basis
- To have a good working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office in particular Microsoft Word to produce letters and other word processed documents.
- To have accurate keyboard skills and attention to detail when using SystmOne.
- To be responsible for answering and fielding telephone calls in a professional manner from a wide variety of sources where there may be barriers to understanding. To provide information, signposting and directing queries as appropriate.
- To accurately collate and input data and produce statistics as and when required.
- To record telephone calls/actions accurately on the patient record as appropriate.
- To maintain diaries, make appointments, arrange meetings etc. as and when required.
- To take minutes/ notes of meetings as and when required, including preparation and distribution of agenda and minutes.
- To undertake general office procedures including photocopying, filing and the distribution of mail
- To implement and update office systems/procedures as required, in collaboration with the team.
- To work effectively as part of a team to provide cover for other administration staff when required and to be flexible regarding working hours to meet the needs of the service.
