Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join the Caretaking Team working across CityCare sites.
The successful candidate will be responsible for unlocking/locking and securing premises, they will also ensure the premises are Health & Safety compliant by carrying out general maintenance and caretaking duties within them.
They successful candidate should enjoy working as part of a team and should be flexible to cover additional sites as and when required.
Main duties of the job
To provide caretaking duties at a Health Centre or other Health Care premises, includingbeing responsible for the upkeep and security of premises to the agreed standards.

Job responsibilities
- To open and/or lock premises each day, ensuring premises are secured at the end of the day
- To work alongside the Health Centre Manager in ensuring a safe working environment inparticular storerooms, boiler housing, out buildings and external areas around the site.
- To complete and record weekly Fire Alarm Testing and to ensure the safe working of firedoors as directed.
- To be responsible for sorting, checking and distributing weekly deliveries
Key Responsibilities
- To provide caretaking duties as required, including:
- To ensure any defects are reported to the Health Centre Manager and to undertake generalmaintenance duties.
- To support premises activities, for example, by preparing rooms for meetings and clinics.
- To maintain external areas eg entrances, car parks, bin stores and gardens to ensure it is keptclean and tidy at all times.
- To collect and dispose of waste materials ensuring that all waste disposal and Health & Safetyprocedures are followed.
- To undertake training relevant to position to ensure adherence to policies and procedures egHealth & Safety, Personal Safety, Fire Safety, Moving & Handling.
- To obtain monthly meter readings for Gas, Electricity and Water.
- To assist Contractors when on site.
- To check and respond to emails on a daily basis.
- To follow CityCares tracking procedure at the start/end of shift to ensure safe and well.
- To work part as a team and to provide cover at other Health Centre premises as required.
- To work flexibly and to undertake any other appropriate duties as required by the Health CentreManager including general cleaning.
