Based at 4 of our Leg Ulcer Clinics in CityCare we are looking to recruit to the post of Leg ulcer Clinic Nurse, Band 5, on a bank contract to cover RN clinic coordinators role on leave. Variable hours required .
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and conscientious nurse to work within the established tissue viability and leg ulcer service in the provision of evidence based leg ulcer care to patients. We are a dynamic, developing service and enthusiastic tissue viability and leg ulcer team providing education, advice, support and clinical care for patients across Nottingham City.
The hours and working days can be discussed per application. The Clinic hours are Monday Friday, 8am 4pm, 8.30am 4.30pm excluding weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Nurse to be part of the Tissue Viability Team and Leg Ulcer Service working across leg ulcer services in Nottingham City.
You will cover leg ulcer clinics and will treat, prevent and manage leg ulcers. Within the wider service you may be involved in audit, development of practice and provision of support to other health care professionals.
You will receive relevant training required to develop your skills and be involved in management of clinics, clinics are staffed with two team members per clinic room and you will work along side a Clinic Support Worker and will have access to the Tissue Viability Team and experienced leg ulcer clinic nurses for further advice and education.
You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must be able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively, also be able to work flexibly within the team and be confident in completing individual tasks

- To provide holistic clinical patient assessment (including vascular assessment) to decide upon appropriate treatment plans, to educate patients and carers regarding the rationale for treatments.

- To clinically supervise staff who work in the leg ulcer clinic
5.2 Clinical/ Professional
- To assess the needs of the client with lower limb problems, to plan and evaluate their care and discuss actions with the team
- To input to the overview of care of patients with complex medical/ psychosocial issues and leg ulceration
- To be able to assess circulation using appropriate assessment techniques and equipment
- To recognise when referral to other members of the team for further advice is necessary
- To be proficient in the application and education of staff in all types of compression therapies
- To participate in the development of innovative practice in the speciality
- To ensure liaison with other specialist services to enhance, facilitate and support the patients journey
- To educate staff visiting the clinic in leg ulcer assessment and management and help them to attain competency in practice
- To have knowledge of wound management treatments
