Job summary
Would you like to join a nationally recognised supportive neurodevelopmental team assisting clinicians to provide assessments for children and young people with suspected AD/HD and Autism. We have a unique service and provide AD/HD and Autism assessments for children and young people aged 0 - 18 years. You will have the opportunity to increase your assessment skills and gain understanding of the role of clinical psychology within a multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental service under the supervision of a clinical psychologist. This role also supports increasing research skills and developing evaluations for various improvement initiatives, there are opportunities for delivering training and providing interventions.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will assist and support high-quality specialist neurodevelopmental assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary team to children and young people (0-18 years) and their families and carers. The assessment process involves using psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, structured observations including home and discreet school observations. You will carry out semi-structured interviews as part of the history taking procedure with the client, family members and other agencies involved with the service user.
You will liaise with other partner agencies gathering information as part of a neurodevelopmental assessment.
You will support clinicians with administrative tasks associated with the provision of psychology input e.g., preparation and production of reports and letters; photocopying; production of training packs and psycho educational resources.
